En fjärdedel av Boyzone kan få representera Irland i ESC

Vi sticker emellan med lite Eurovision-nytt från Irland:

En låt av Boyzone-medlemmen Mikey Graham har tagits ut som ett av fem bidrag som ska slåss om att få representera Irland i Oslo i maj. Han slog på vägen bland annat ut bidrag inskickade av bandkollegan Ronan Keating, som alltså får nöja sig med att ha tävlat i Danmark tidigare i år.

Låten heter Baby, Nothing's Wrong och Graham, som just nu är en av medlemmarna i den brittiska versionen av Stjärnor på Is, har skrivit låten till sin fru Karen som han hoppas ska få framföra den.

"I'm thrilled to be in the final five of the Ireland's Eurovision selection," säger Graham till tidningen The Sun. "It would be a real honour to have the chance to represent my country. I'm a huge fan of the Eurovision and Ireland have a great track record within the competition, so to be in with a shot and to have the opportunity would be a dream come true. I wrote the song for my wife so it would be fantastic, if I was lucky enough to be picked, to perform a song that's so special to me."

Graham och de fyra andra finalisterna - bland annat gamla ESC-vinnaren Niamh Kavanagh med ett svensk-pennat bidrag - kommer presentera sina bidrag den 5e mars i TV-programmet Late Late Show och tittarna kommer rösta fram vinnaren.
